Coil Pairing Matrix & Draw Experience

The Nautilus X / XS coil family covers two core resistances that suit different vaping profiles. The 1.5Ω coil operates between 14–20W and delivers slightly more vapour alongside a tight MTL draw – ideal for vapers who enjoy a bold flavour experience. The 1.8Ω coil, rated at 10–14W, is the classic MTL connoisseur's choice: economical on e-liquid, extremely flavour-accurate and perfect for higher nicotine strengths. Both variants benefit from the U-Tech principle, where air is routed twice through the heating element – significantly reducing flavour distortion. We recommend e-liquids with a 50/50 PG/VG ratio, as their lower viscosity wicks through the cotton quickly. Nicotine salt e-liquids in the same ratio also work beautifully and deliver an especially smooth, rounded vape on the higher ohm values. High-VG liquids (over 60% VG) are not suitable for these coils, as the cotton will not re-saturate quickly enough and dry hits are likely.

Daily Operation & Maintenance Tips

For maximum coil lifespan we recommend classic priming: drip 3–5 drops of e-liquid directly onto the visible cotton of the coil, then fill the tank. Let the device sit for at least 5–10 minutes so the cotton becomes fully saturated – this is the only way to avoid a burnt first hit. Start a fresh 1.8Ω coil at 10W and gradually increase to your target wattage. Chain vaping without breaks puts unnecessary strain on the wick; leave 10–15 seconds between puffs. If the flavour turns muted or a faint sweet-burnt note appears, the coil has reached the end of its life – changing it in time protects your tank from residue build-up. Store spare coils in a cool, dark and dry place so the cotton doesn't degrade.
