Tips for taking it

Sublingual intake: Ideally, use the pipette to place the oil directly under the tongue and leave it in the mouth for around 60 seconds before swallowing. This allows the ingredients to be absorbed through the oral mucosa. Give the bottle a brief shake before each use. Once opened, always keep the bottle well sealed, cool and protected from light.

Pet dosing For dogs and cats, CBD drops are usually administered directly into the mouth or over some food or a treat. Always follow the weight-based recommendation and for cats only use oils labelled as 100% terpene- and THC-free.

A reliable guideline: light balance with approximately 0.2 mg/kg, moderate relaxation with approximately 0.5 mg/kg, and intensive recovery with approximately 1.0 mg/kg of body weight per day. For example, at a body weight of 75 kg, the moderate dose equates to roughly 37.5 mg of CBD daily.
A standard 10 ml dropper bottle contains approximately 250 drops. At 5% CBD, one drop delivers exactly 2 mg of CBD; at 10% it is 4 mg; at 15% it is 6 mg; at 20% it is 8 mg; and at 25% it is 10 mg of CBD per drop. So if you want to take 20 mg of CBD, you need exactly 5 drops of a 10% oil, or only 2–3 drops of a 20% oil.
The percentage figure describes the active ingredient concentration per bottle volume. The quality and purity are identical across reputable brands — only the density of cannabidiol varies. Higher concentrations offer better value, as you need noticeably fewer drops per serving. For beginners, 5% and 10% are ideal for dialling in the dose with pinpoint precision.
Compared to humans and dogs, cats have a genetic deficiency in the liver enzyme glucuronosyltransferase. As a result, they cannot metabolise plant terpenes (such as limonene, pinene, or myrcene) or phenols. Administering conventional full-spectrum hemp oils can lead to toxic liver damage and signs of poisoning. For cats, only 100% terpene-free oils based on MCT or salmon oil may be used.
When the oil is held sublingually under the tongue, the noticeable effect usually sets in within 15 to 30 minutes, as the active compounds are absorbed directly through the delicate oral mucosa. The effect typically lasts 4 to 6 hours. If the oil is swallowed immediately or taken with food, onset is delayed to 60–90 minutes.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), CBD has an excellent safety profile and carries no potential for addiction. A toxic overdose is extremely unlikely. With doses that are too high, occasional drowsiness, dry mouth, or a slight drop in blood pressure may occur. Always start low and increase the number of drops gradually.
