Describe how you want to vape in a single sentence. Popy compares every device in the smokepope range against your wishes – draw style, battery, power output, handling, budget – and tells you the device, the matching pod, the resistance and the wattage. You'll also find calculators here for ohms, watts, battery life and atomiser running costs.
Popy only recommends products that smokepope actually stocks, and lists the draw style, battery and wattage window for every device. Please don't enter any personal data.
Still happening? Tell Popy above which device and which resistance you're using – he'll track down the right replacement for you.
This wattage falls outside the range your atomiser can handle. Too little makes it gurgle, too much makes it scorch.
One item is currently out of stock – ask Popy for an alternative.
You pick your liquid in the Liquid Mixer – it knows your device and suggests flavours and strengths that suit it.
Everything calculates right here in your browser – no sign-up, no waiting, no AI. Each calculator shows the formula it uses and can pass its values up to the advisor above if you wish.
Enter the resistance and power – the calculator works out the voltage and current and tells you which type of draw that resistance belongs to.
This combination falls outside the usual range for ohms. Too few watts makes the atomiser gurgle; too many makes it burn – stick to the wattage printed on the pod.
U = √(P × R) · I = √(P ÷ R) · P = U² ÷ R
From battery capacity, power and draw length, you can work out how many puffs a single charge delivers – and how often you'll need to plug in during the day.
Calculated at 85% efficiency. Real cells deliver less under heavy load, and cold costs extra. If you want to stay under one charge a day, these values suggest you'll need around .
Puffs = mAh × 3.7 V × 3.6 × 0.85 ÷ (Watts × Seconds)
Pack price, quantity and lifespan give you the running costs – the number that really matters when comparing two devices.
Extending lifespan: stay in the lower half of the wattage range, let the pod soak for five minutes before your first puff, and choose sweetener-free e-liquids – sucralose caramelises on the coil and costs you flavour.
Cost per month = Price ÷ Units × 30 ÷ Lifespan
How long your device stays plugged in comes down to two numbers: capacity and charging current. Fast charging at 2 A halves the time compared with a 1 A port.
A 15% surcharge is included: the last few percent charge more slowly on every cell. Don't charge overnight or below 10 °C, and your battery will hold its capacity for longer.
Hours = mAh ÷ (Amps × 1000) × 1.15
For devices with replaceable battery cells only. The calculator tells you how much current your settings draw and whether the cell is allowed to deliver that on a continuous basis.
Not enough headroom. A cell should be rated at least 2 A above the calculated current – otherwise it gets hot, ages quickly and, in the worst case, becomes dangerous. Lower the power or use a higher resistance.
A note on our range: every e-cigarette at smokepope has a built-in battery and manages this current itself. This calculator is for battery mods using 18650 or 21700 cells that you use elsewhere. Damaged coils or wraps must be replaced, never repaired with tape.
I = √(P ÷ R) · Headroom = CDR − I
How many disposables are in a 10 ml bottle? The maths is pure arithmetic: volume against volume, nicotine against nicotine.
For context: disposables are almost always 20 mg/ml nic salt. In the EU, no more than 20 mg/ml and 10 ml bottles are permitted. Which strength suits you is your call – when in doubt, go lower.
Bottle equivalent = Bottle [ml] ÷ Liquid per disposable [ml]
Every device series with its pods and coils, including resistances and wattage range. The wattage range applies to the whole coil – which value suits your resistance is worked out by the advisor above. The table is generated from our catalogue on every index run – anything listed here is what we actually stock.

Can't find your series? Ask Popy above – he knows every device we stock by name. Pods from another series won't fit physically, even if they look similar.
Popy knows every device, pod and coil at smokepope, including draw style, battery, wattage range and resistance – and answers free text instead of dropdown filters.
One sentence is enough: where you're starting from, how you want the draw, what you're willing to spend. The more specific, the better – "no button" and "needs to last all day" matter more for the selection than any brand name.
Every device is scored against your requirements: draw style first, then system, battery, handling and price. A device that can't deliver your draw style is ruled out – even if it would otherwise be a great fit.
Device, matching pod, resistance and wattage belong together. The starter set puts both in the cart as a pair; for e-liquid, Popy hands you over to the liquid mixer, who finds the flavour and strength to suit your device.
The vape style is the first and most important decision. It determines resistance, power, nicotine strength and liquid base all at once. Clicking "Ask Popy" puts the question into the input field.
The draw switchers already know: draw into your mouth first, then inhale. Tight, firm, little vapour, little noise. Resistance from around 0.8 ohms, power usually 8 to 22 watts, 50/50 base, higher nicotine – often nicotine salt between 10 and 20 mg/ml. Uses the least liquid and is gentle on the battery.
Straight into the lungs, but restricted. More vapour and flavour than MTL, without the open draw of a sub-ohm device. Resistance between roughly 0.5 and 0.8 ohms, 12 to 35 watts, 50/50 or 70/30 base, medium nicotine – 6 to 12 mg/ml. The usual next step once MTL feels too tight over time.
Open like sipping through a straw: plenty of air, plenty of vapour, plenty of flavour. Resistance below 0.5 ohms, 40 watts and above, 70/30 base, low nicotine – 0 to 3 mg/ml, otherwise it gets harsh on the throat. Uses noticeably more liquid and battery; it's the wrong direction to start in.
The second decision: how does the liquid get into the device, and what do you buy afterwards?
You fill in your own liquid and only swap the pod or coil when the flavour fades. The widest choice of flavours, the lowest running costs, one extra step. This is the format smokepope carries – with a built-in battery and USB-C.
Click in the pod and you're done. No refilling, no spills while filling – but a fixed flavour range and a higher cost per millilitre. Worth it if you want maximum simplicity, or as a second device for on the go.
Box mod with an 18650 or 21700 cell and a separate tank. Maximum power and runtime, but you're responsible for the cell, the charger and the resistance. Not currently stocked – if you vape this way, you'll find coils for common tanks here, plus the safety calculator.
Three numbers on the pod decide flavour, vapour production and lifespan.
The lower the resistance, the more current flows, the hotter the coil gets and the more vapour is produced. 1.2 ohms is a tight MTL draw, 0.6 ohms sits in between, 0.3 ohms is an open lung draw. The same pod is often available in several resistances – same format, two completely different vaping experiences.
Mesh is a网-like weave rather than a wire: more surface area, faster heating, denser flavour, longer lifespan – today's standard. Kanthal wire still turns up in older heads, stainless steel allows temperature control. For your buying decision, the main point is: mesh where available.
Every pod has a range printed on it, say 12–25 W. Below it the cotton can't keep up and the pod gurgles; above it the cotton burns and it tastes burnt. The sweet spot is usually in the middle. Leave new pods to stand for five minutes before the first puff so the cotton soaks through fully.
Five habits that do more than any accessory.
Lithium cells like the range between 20 and 80 per cent. Anyone who fully drains it daily and charges overnight loses noticeable capacity within a few months. A second device or a top-up in the afternoon is gentler on the battery than any charging technique.
The most common reason for "it won't turn on" is liquid on the contacts or fluff in the USB port. Wipe the contacts with a dry cloth, blow out the port, store the device upright. When filling, go only up to the marker – the rest ends up in the airflow channel.
Don't leave it in the car in summer, and keep it in an inside pocket in winter: cold noticeably shortens runtime, heat shortens lifespan. Empty the tank before a flight – the pressure difference pushes liquid through the airflow channel. Devices belong in hand luggage, never in the hold.
Briefly explained, so the spec sheets become readable.
| Term | Meaning | Why it matters to you |
|---|---|---|
| MTL / RDL / DL | Vape style: mouth to lung, restricted direct lung, open direct lung. | Determines resistance, wattage, nicotine strength and liquid base in one go. |
| Ohm (Ω) | Electrical resistance of the coil in the pod or head. | Low means hot and vapour-heavy, high means tight and economical. |
| Watt (W) | Power the device delivers to the coil. | Has to fit within the pod's window, otherwise it gurgles or burns. |
| mAh | Battery capacity in milliamp hours. | Decides whether a single charge carries you through the day. |
| Auto-draw | The device fires when you inhale, with no button. | The point at which a disposable vape feels just like you're used to. |
| AFC / Airflow | Airflow control on the device or pod. | Lets you set the draw from tight to open without swapping the pod. |
| Mesh | A weave rather than a wire as the heating element. | Faster heating, more flavour, longer lifespan. |
| VG / PG | Ratio of glycerine to propylene glycol in the liquid. | 50/50 for MTL and pods, 70/30 for sub-ohm and lots of vapour. |
| Nicotine salt | Nicotine in bound form, smoother on the throat. | Makes high strengths in small pods actually pleasant. |
| Pre-filled pod | A ready-filled pod from a closed system. | No refilling, fixed flavour range, higher cost per ml. |
