Coil Pairing Matrix & Draw Experience

The Aspire Pixo Max uses Aspire's own Pixo pods with APS mesh coil technology. Essentially, two resistance classes are available: The 0.6-ohm mesh coil is the all-rounder for a slightly open RDL draw and operates in the range of approximately 18–25 watts – perfect for vapers who want a bit more vapour and an airier draw. The 1.0-ohm mesh coil, on the other hand, is designed for a classic MTL draw and runs optimally between approximately 12–16 watts; it delivers a dense, flavour-rich vapour at moderate vapour volume. Both coils benefit from the mesh construction, which ensures even heating and long coil life. As for liquid recommendations: For the 1.0-ohm coil, 50/50 (PG/VG) liquids and nicotine salt liquids are the first choice – they reliably saturate the wicking material and prevent dry hits. The 0.6-ohm coil also handles 50/50 blends well, but can still perform nicely with higher VG ratios (up to approx. 60 VG) as long as the airflow is kept somewhat open. High-VG shortfills above 70 VG are not recommended for this pod system, as wicking performance in the compact Pixo pods reaches its limits. For maximum coil life, careful priming is recommended: Before first use, drip a few drops of liquid directly onto the visible wicking material of the coil, assemble the pod, and let it sit for at least 5–10 minutes so the wick can fully saturate. After that, start at the lower end of the recommended wattage range and gradually increase the power – this makes the mesh coils wear significantly slower. Never let the pod run completely empty, as dry wicking material can burn within just a few puffs. For everyday use, it's recommended to charge the device overnight via Type-C and rely on the automatic coil detection during the day, which prevents accidental operation at too high a power.
